Back in 1951 William Stepp and his wife Marion and William's brother Carl set out to open up a sewing machine retail and repair store. Back in these early years they would offer to come to customers homes and give free demonstrations of our machines. William and Carl were successful and this allowed them to earn customers trust and gave them a strong foundation. Now, in the late 60s, the big indoor malls started being built and many of the big named stores such as Macy's, JC Penney, and Sears in their heydays anchored these huge malls. The average indoor mall had up to 100 stores, representing merchandisers with interconnecting walkways that enable customers to walk from store to store. In the sixties everyone was going mobile “needless to say going to customer's homes for sales, ended. Now, it was time for us to gear up our storefront for customers who wanted to come to us. This was a exciting time for us, it seemed like overnight that we had our storefront cleaned up.We opened up a much bigger repair area,we painted the walls, we put in new carpet, new bright lights, etc, we had inventories of new sewing machines, cabinets, parts etc, all ready for our incoming customers. We started selling much more, our customer base has always been loyal to us and this is the way our business has remained over six decades. The patriarch of our business William Sr ( best known by family and friends simply as Buck), died in 1989. Carl, William's brother, passed in 1993. personal note, William and Carl were forever close, they both not only worked together and of course brothers, but truly were like best friends. I would like to think " that they are in Heaven talking sewing machines and maybe, sewing up a hem.
Gary, who is William and Marion's son and who worked alongside his parents since his early teens took over operations of the business after his father's death.
Gary met his wife Sandy and married in 1992. Sandy is a wonderful sewer and you will oftentimes see her at the store. The matriarch of the company Marion, is now 86 years young and while retired now she still comes into the store when she wants to. If you are wondering when she can our mom still loves to meet with our customers. Without question she is loved by all our family and our customers.
Brenda, and Mary two of Gary's sisters and grandson Landon work in the store.

Hey everyone this is my mom, I will let you in a secret, she hates this picture but I forever will love it, she is a wonderful person. God has been so wonderful to me and my mom is one of his greatest gifts. I worked with my mom after my father became ill, she raised her five children on her own while working at our at store and caring for dad, she is one of the people you will meet who just leaves you in awe, the song that goes something like count your blessings one by one, yes count you blessing one by one then see what God has done, it was said that its not about me, but I will let you in on another thing for sure! I know that God blessings are one by one and when he let me be born the son of my mom, I know he loves me. I was busy with a customer when our sales rep came in to our store to give us a dealer award my mom had stopped in to say hello as she does oftentimes on the way to get her hair done our sales rep gave the award to mom and took the picture, mom hadn't been to get her hair done, ha! that's the reason I know that she doesn't like this picture ha!
